Our client’s brief was to remodel and extend the large Edwardian house in Didsbury, South Manchester in order to accommodate their long term requirements, resulting in an innovative and unique design.
A large family room was created by extending the existing kitchen in the form of a ‘glass room’, with French windows leading to a raised terrace and steps down into the garden. This family room has now become the hub of family life.
Previously unused spaces in the cellar and attic were incorporated into the design. The cellar is now a workroom, borrowing natural light with a glass panel set into the kitchen floor above and the attic is converted to form a master bedroom and artist’s studio.
