The Bridge Hotel, Prestbury
We had worked with The Bridge Hotel in Prestbury Village many times over the years, and the current owners drew on our long standing knowledge of this beautiful listed building to help them unlock its full potential. Although the hotel already enjoyed a strong reputation as a wedding venue, it had reached a point where its historic fabric, its listing constraints and a patchwork of extensions from different eras were limiting what it could offer. Our clients wanted to refresh the hotel; we saw an opportunity to completely reimagine it.
From the moment we revisited the building, it was clear that The Bridge had the capacity to become far more than a well loved local venue. Its riverside setting, its layered history and its architectural character offered the foundations for something truly exceptional. Working closely with the owners, we developed the brief into a bold, future facing masterplan that went far beyond their initial expectations. Our aim was to create a destination that would elevate the guest experience, expand the hotel’s capabilities and secure its long term success.
We proposed a comprehensive redevelopment that included new guest rooms, luxurious bridal suites, expanded function spaces, leisure facilities and a series of external bar and dining areas that would transform how the hotel engaged with its surroundings. Each element was designed to enhance the building’s heritage while introducing a contemporary vibrancy that would appeal to modern visitors.
Our visualisation work played a crucial role in shaping the project. Through detailed 3D models, atmospheric imagery and immersive spatial studies, we helped the clients see possibilities they had never imagined for the hotel. These tools allowed them to experience the future building long before construction, giving them the confidence to embrace a more ambitious and transformative vision.
The resulting masterplan set out a phased redevelopment that would breathe new life into The Bridge Hotel, revitalising its identity and ensuring its continued success as one of Prestbury’s most important destinations. The project became a celebration of what thoughtful, imaginative design could achieve when heritage, ambition and vision aligned.
